Aerial view of the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe
John Muir, a professional naturalist, once called the Lake Tahoe as, “The Queen of All Lakes.” Mark Twain called it in his best words as, “The fairest picture the whole earth affords.” Lake Tahoe, also known as the Jewel of the Sierra, lies nestled between California and Nevada. The lake beams bright with shimmering reflections, cascading in a myriad of deep-blue and greenish hues, mesmerizing the thousands of guests who come to encounter its invigorating forested shorelines every year.
Perched at a lofty height of over 6,000 feet high, in the mighty Sierra Nevada range, Lake Tahoe is the second deepest lake in America, second only to Oregon’s Crater Lake, while encompassing a depth of 1,660 feet. The picturesque and spellbinding, high-altitude setting, makes the 72-mile ‘water heaven’ a circumnavigating twist around the rugged alpine terrain, and being surrounded and fenced in by sweeping snow-capped mountains, makes it one of America’s most prized driving experiences ever.
